Originally designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 (along with the Egg Chair), for the lobby and reception areas at the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, the Swan Chair is a true furniture icon of the 20^th century.

Synonymous with Danish furniture design throughout the world, our Swan Chair reproductions are made to the highest standards with the best materials sourced globally.

Adhering to the original design, our Swan Chair is padded with multi-density foam and covered in RED, BLACK, or APPLE GREEN Velvet fabric.

Other materials include a 4 star casting aluminum base that swivels in a 360 degree motion, with plastic protective gliders for hardwood floors.

HISTORY:

Inspired by the works of Charles and Ray Eames, Arne Jacobsen is considered one of the most influential furniture designers of the 20th century.

Jacobsen designed the Swan Chair (as well as the Egg Chair) in 1958 for the lobby and reception areas at the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen with these chairs being credited as the first swiveling upholstered chairs ever created.

Initially created for a public area (i.e. the Hotel’s lobby), the Swan Chair is unique and swung to cultural prominence because it allows occupants to swivel toward a conversation, or away from if privacy and peace is so desired.

The perfectly sculptured Swan Chair has a fluid form that requires minimum padding, and is lightweight without sacrificing comfort.

The Swan Chair continues to be one of Arne Jacobsen's most popular designs, mixing organic forms along with comfort. This is a high quality reproduction.
